I honestly can't remember the Aperture. I flicked it around so often that day that I didn't really take much notice. Just changed it to whatever suited what I was after at that particular moment.
This is a crop of the original photo. The entire hat on the front man was in the image but not much else. I basically shortened it vertically to achieve this.

Margaret, what I was referring to was the way the distant mans details are rounded off, almost like a bad erasing job on the edges. The man in the front has sharper details in the fact of his skin and lines.

Judi in one of your replies you mentioned the 'roundness' of the more distant man, how strange I see almost the opposite. So althought the furthest away is 'softer as in the DOF' the image to me starts the a 'rounder' face in the foreground and the profiles of the men each being sharper than the previous. Whatever the DOF and composition are great

Cagatay....these men are three of the four male attendants at the wedding I photographed on the weekend. I just loved their outfits. This particular photo was taken during the ceremony. They all got quite used to us flitting around them with the cameras.
