Thanks Ameedie. The reason her eyes are differently is probably because of my set up. I kept her in natural diffused light and used a gold reflector to bounce away the shadows...hence in her right eye you can see the reflector but not so much in 'her' left eye.

Thanks Steve. I took these images for a couple of reasons. The look on her face was priceless and also after what we had been through, I wanted to treasure the fact that she was back with us, forever. So I took these photos. She enjoyed it and it did take her mind off things, but she got tired very easily with it.

Thanks Margaret. They had a few ideas as to what it was, but they haven't received confirmation yet. I am now not to concerned as to the name of it, just the fact that she is getting better means more to me. The suspicions they had were very serious, so we were pretty scared for a while.

Glad to hear Kita is OK Judi... I didn't even know she was ill but its heartening to know she's home again. I know how worrying it is when your children are ill so my heart goes out to you both for the anxiety you must have felt over the last few days.
Great portrait Judi - th expression is superb and the eyes so full of feeling. Tell little Kita we all look forward to more of her surprise shots of mum! And of course, the wonderful landscapes she does.

I am glad she is ok now and she is home, life is tough and we have to be tougher, and Kita is tough, like mommy :)
I like the portrait allot, so soft and nice tones.
There is something very weired about it Judi, I don't know if you noticed it,
The reflection in both eyes are different!!!!
I don't know if I am making sense, you can enlarge the original to take a closer look,
I don't know if my eyes are deserving me,

wow, Judi, i cant imagine... my son means sooo much to me, if i were faced with the same thing, i would probably have a nervous breakdown, or have to go on drugs or something... it just.. its jsut too much sometimes, even when he has the normal bumps and bruises, i fall apart... lol... so, you obviously are handling like a champ as well...
this image is wonderful, and with the info behind it very touching... i wish nothing but the fastest recovery and quickest return to normality for you guys....

Wonderful close-up portrait!!! Posed but still natural... great detail, tones and composition... well captured!!! There's no place like home... as I work in a hospital myself I know how depressing the surroundings can be... (I always say: a great place to work but not to stay....) you captured a wonderful emotion! reading the story behind it puts this photo in a whole different dimension. I just came back from the hospital myself (nothing serious though) and it was so nice to see my wife right there when I woke up from the anaethesia. It is good to be back home!

Oh my God! Im so sorry she has been sick but I am even more thankful she is better and resting at home. Bless her heart and the family.
That is a scary thing when the wee ones get ill and we are so helpless. Or feel helpless anyway. I remember the tears I cryed because of their pain.
May she get well soon and be back out taking pics with her momma.
