Believe me ... I am keen on trying other things... and I feel the same as you. Although I also realise that to pursue something to it's very limit of interest allows me to perfect a foundation of process that will then allow me to expand into other realms. I feel as you that I think that I am ready to try this now....Great observation....the truth is apparent.
On another point I make a living by painting landscape paintings from my photos and that is why I started to shoot photography.. Now I am also shooting photos for the sake of photography in it's own right.
