Hi Jennifer, I think it's the soft lighting that really makes this image. Very tranquil and peaceful. The tracks in the snow take the viewers eye towards the light, which is very refreshing. Very good shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

Jennifer;
Yes, we've all had the to face that choice - get up and shoot, or roll over and dream...
I'm glad you got up, because I think this shot is a dream! I love the light, and the way that the winding road seems to draw the eye into the frame. If you set out to capture the mood as well as an image, you've suceeded. Very nice work.

Certainly worth getting up for, great shot; cold and warm all in one. Nice contrast of colors especially for a winter scene

thanks, Mark. Although i have to admit that it really wasn't that cold, only around freezing, which is balmny compared to the rest of canada this time of year & sunrise happens around 8am so it really wasn't all that early either! ha, ha - so it all sounds much more impressive than it was! But SO worth it, for sure. :O)

Really a nice scene, Jennifer. Well composed and perfectly exposed. I'm never this good that early in the morning. Especially a cold morning.
