About In most of my bird photos, I'm trying to show the bird's 'personality' (at least as I imagine it). Here I was trying more to evoke a mood of cold and impending darkness. I don't know how successful I was.

The blue tone is great as is the "web" of branches around the bird. You've managed to get the bird's face perfectly sharp...great shot.
