I've considered starting a small business doing in-home pet portraits. This was my first attempt with my own little darling. The set-up is simply some black cloth and a hooded light aimed at a down angle to the dog. I used a slow shutter speed but I didn't have a tripod at the time. I do now, so I could probably get a much sharper image in the future if I wanted to. I know you can see the wrinkles in the cloth but I sort of liked the effect they added. However, I'd like to know what other people think about it. PS-converted to B&W, upped contrast and sharpened. Please feel free to critique fully...from position of the animal to lighting...anything.
I see what you mean. I agree, I need something to bring out her eyes. The little dog sticking out it's tongue in your picture is totally adorable and hilarious BTW. Very Cute! Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Effie, This is not bad as a first attempt. Your dog is a little darling! I like the drapes in the black cloth also. I think maybe a stronger light, or a strobe would help. His eyes lack defintion... catch lights would really help. I am attaching one of the images of the dog that I did to illustrate. Best of luck with your business endeavor! Kind Regards, Melissa
