I have enjoyed your photo here for some time now. I learn something new with each shot. I am impressed by your florals as well as your overall control of DOF. Wonderful shot here. The color is a delight. Cheers! Sam

Thanks for the comments about this image. It is something I've been dreaming about since I saw David Chang-Sang's red flower a while back.
Kim, the technical advantage to using a zebra reflector is that it is exactly half way between gold reflection and silver. Depending on the subject and the light source, half way between might be just the ticket.
But in pursuit of truthfulness, the reason I chose the zebra is that it was already in my hand. The other reflectors were in the other room. My choice was based on convenience (aka laziness)!
Merry Christmas!

You're right... nothing else matters except the beauty of this image. I love the delicate shades of red and how they are so vibrant but have so much detail. I have to ask though, what the benefit is to using a zebra reflector... I'm guessing it's a striped reflector (gold & white?) but I have never used one so I don't know how it effects the image differently from a solid reflector.
Have a merry christmas, Mary Sue, and I look forward to another year of fabulous images!

Hi Mary Sue, I'm not sure what to be more impressed by: growing your subject for the perfect shot, or the wonderful detail and saturation of this shot... Hummm... I'll have to get back to you on that one... Cheers! Sam
