About
The Cat's Eye Pub, in Fells Point (Baltimore) offers up some excellent non-pop acts. Great blues, jazzy rock, and many vagabond acts that fit the dark, smokey, whiskey soaked atmosphere perfectly! I couldn't use my flash, and it was really dark, so I had to open the aperture and slow the shutter WAY down....therefore it was blurry shots, or no shots at all (argh!). Oh well....things were looking a little blurry by this point anyway. This lady came out of the crowd and joined the band for a song...she was tremendous! Desaturated in PS, and cropped.

What a great image. The tight cropping and excellent composition makes this image stand out the grain and movement is icing on the cake. I can almost hear the music I can certainly feel the tension hell it's like being there.

I love this boozy bluesy capture ala Janis Joplin. Nice blur and mood Brad.

Works for me! You captured the feel and that's the important part. Very nice! Like it!

The tones and blur add to the mood in this one. Very well done.

This is a very remarkable image. The amount of fuzziness is such that adds necessary dynamism, yet doesn't disturb the content.

Get yoself a cheap old 1.4/1.8 prime and chuck it on! There are ways I understand, I took a close look at the chances of sticking my old lenses on a d70 and it can be done with a lens mount adapter ring, in the case of Nikon you lose infinity focus.
I'm scoring the *istds soon hopefully (if it's here in time for my brothers wedding I'll buy it if not I'll wait another couple of months) and can't wait to chuck the old manual focus screw mount dunga on it.
Love this though. Boy, more dramatic possibilities than a blues concert alone can generate in this frame!
