hey bro,
I may have overdone the sharpening... but the colors are real ;-) (at least the colors were the same as I saw them in that night)

Hi Baki,
thanks for the constructive words.
problem is that my wide angle lens doesn't let me do the aperture I needed hand-held =)

Hey bro! I'm struggling with your post processing. I believe that colors like that can be real; but not in that combination. I think you exaggerated the sharpening. The comp and the angle is great and the colors pretty cool. C.

First of all - such wonderful church! Is this real sky? Is this the amazing blue that comes after the sunset, before it?s getting dark. That blue is magic. Nice work Thilo.

Excellent image thilo! This sky has to be the most beautiful night sky I've ever seen! The blue color is heavenly! The exposure of both the sky and the building is wonderful and perfect here aren?t any white hues or yellowish tones, which means the white balance was?. Ummm well balanced :P It seem just a tiny bit un focused but after reading the about and knowing u took this with out a tripod! Fantastic! the sharpness added in PS works well in fixing that problem The composition is nice too again thilo this is a good image! :)

Another great image from somebody who knows his camera and who's moving around in PS without effort. I love the vertical format, suitable for your composition of this church. Somehow you managed to get the church to look like it's from a postcard from the 60's or early 70's...but together with the moody sky it becomes something completely different. Very good as always.

Long-exposure night skies can be so dramatic. I see why you explained how this is not an inserted sky, the church looks almost superimposed here!

Hi Thilo, I like the three point perspective as well as the contrasting tones between the stone of the church and the colour depth of the sky. Nice and sharp.
Somehow, I have a feeling the tones are too fierce; not over exposed (as you mentioned, you did some work on that) but it somehow makes the lit areas of the church too similar to the darker areas. Not sure if I explained this properly. On one hand, the details and contrasts are very strong, but the thones are quite similar in depth all over the building. That makes it look a bit unnatural to me.... As usual, thats also what I find intriguing in this photo.
Cheers,
Hugo

Beautiful night picture... Love the composition and the angle... The colors a awesome...
For sure it must have been an overwhelming night... Love the lighting of the church (It seems to me more like a casttle tower, than a church :))
The arquitecture transports me to another time... It must have been beautiful to see it!!!!!
The sky is extraordinary... Superb blue color!!! I like this very much Thilo... Great work!!!!
