About Another photo taken from the John Hancock Tower Observatory in Chicago. This one focuses on the Park Hyatt building and allows a comparison to the size of the Water Tower (see Water Tower Series). It was taken at the same day of images #1 and #2 of the Water Tower series.

Jurgen, this is really a great shot. The clarity and color are so sharp. Great job.

Mark

For a little instamatic type digital they are great shots indeed. Something tells me you are having much more fun with your D70. I will someday get a Digital SLR but I am hung up on film. And also too poor to aford a nice digital right now. I keep buying gadgets for my Canon. It is an expensive hoby.

Thank you for your comments, Pat. I took these photos with the little S400 camera, the one that fits in the palm of your hand.

The 3x built-in zoom is rated (according to the EXIF picture info) as 7mm to 22mm. The 7.4mm is probably more like 20mm in "big camera" terms.

Controlling aperture or shutter speed is also a bit more cumbersome on the little cameras. That?s why I bought a Nikon D70 a few months back. Have not been back on the Hancock, though.

All of these shots are great. I do wonder about 7.4mm That seems like a very wide angle lens. However, I know digital lenses are measured differntly. I would say a small apeture f/11 or 22 may have yeilded a sharper pic.

Very nice. The architecture is amazing. Beautiful contrast and choice of crop.
