Rebecca, I gotta confess, there was never molten lava in these channels, just rainwater! The scale is hard to tell from the photo, but I was very close to the ground with a very wide angle; the rock in the foreground is only maybe the size of a fist, and the place where the gullies converge was at most about 10 feet from the camera.

This is a magnificent bw landscape. I love how you chose a low angle to show channels that once ran with molten lava. Excellent composition, details and dof. Very well done. 7+
