My "toy" camera enabled me to snap this Halloween display. This day is neither widely observed nor well understood in Japan, but one enterprising florist has tried to profit from the day... This was taken in artificial light (tungsten) and I've adjusted the colour balance. Auto white balance ended up too warm.
Hi Roger, I somehow find it very pleasing to see that the mobile phone camera does get into trouble under more difficult lighting condidtions. Not meaning this is not a good shot (I do think the harsh exposure fits the theme perfectly) but with the previous ones, I began to doubt my decision to by a DSLR....;)
A colourful shot, Roger, and aren't you lucky not to be plagued by 'trick or treat' and the like! We have little kids of 5 and 6 running around with skull masks and fake blood pouring out of their mouths! I hate it! Best regards, Chris
Hi Roger; it really is quite amazing what you can do with the "toy" cameras-- I have yet to try them. I'd guess that's why this image is a little soft, but I like the color, subjects, and composition.
I agree that digital noise doesn't really look like film grain, but I still like the effect it created in my moon photo. It's guys like you that keep me honest-- thanks. Cheers. Craig
