For a Canon G3 this is a superb shot. Digital cameras tend to give butterflies (and dragoflies) a rather hard brittle, artificial look. This is because of overly aggressive sharpening.
As the others have pointed out, to be really interesting you need a different angle. Unfortunately this particular family of butterflies prefers to lie flat on the ground.
If you have any chalk grassland nearby go in June to August and try the skippers, they are very tame and always stand to attention when being photographed (see attached - a technically dreadful photo but shows what I mean about interesting angles).

I asked myself before, why Butterflies has this unique symmetry?, and now i have an answer. The scales on the surface of the forewing of this butterfly has two functions, attracting the female by reflecting UV rays, and it helps The wings to absorb light to get the heat which is essential for the animals to survive. The structure of the scales covering the wings distributes the heat over the body. The distance of the ribs on the scales? surface has about the same size as the wave-length of the absorbed light.
We cannot separate beauty from function in nature

Great macroshot! =) Would be even greater if it sat on a branch or something.. so you got depth and perhaps that the background then could be blurred out! So our eyes would go for the animal only.. =)
