Jon, I also like the portrait version better - the top part of the grave in the foreground of the landscape version is distracting - may the world never forget, why is it that they do?

Hello, and thank you for your kind comments. I did not actually notice the name on the gravestone until I was cropping it, at which time the title leaped into my head. So a bit creative AND ironic :-]

I love shots like this. Both versions are excellent, however, I prefer the cropped one because of the title. Did you intentionally call this "Voiceless" based on the name on the grave? If so, very creative. If not, very ironic. Anyway you look at it, this is an awesome shot. Good work!

Both shots work, but I am drifting to the uncropped version. The depth of field works well here, suggesting more of a story - not that one is needed here.
It may seem pverly philosophical but there is an interesting contrast between what remains in tight focus (in our lives) and what fades away.

I like the cropped version better, it focuses more on one while still showing that many more are around. Invokes alot of emotions. Great job!

My opinion carries nowt weight (since I have two in the force) BUT... if I must, then I vote fer the heavily cropped. The names and ranks stand out. Man... ya beat me up on this one... Hard to look and not think to me own... still, great shot. Edward Voice speaks volumes... JIL
