Del, I couldn't get the entire wagon that day. I'll tell ya what though, JUST for you, I'm gonna go back down there with a wide angle lens and get you a shot of all of it. It had horse or mule collar hanging up there and everything. You'd love it. I'll get that done this weekend. Maybe sooner. :)

Rebecca, I am going to just forget commenting on the photo but tell you I have spent many many hours with a wagon just like that and it brings back so many memories seeing the detailed parts, how the wheel was constructed, the bolsters under the wagon (yes that is what they are called) and I have cut cane using a scythe like hanging on the side. If you captured the entire wagon before cropping could you show that also? Nah, those are not tears on my shirt, I spilled my drink. Del.

Bit of a Grim Reaper approach... love the connection. But then... I am a bit on the darker side of life/death...

I love the soft subtle colors in here. I think that makes it so much more interesting than straight black and white. I imagine these things are not positioned or lighted with photography in mind. You do a beautiful job with them.

I agree that the 'bleached' look works nicely with this rather morbid subject! This shot would be fun to play with further, and make it look even more sinister! I find the inclusion of the scythe to be interesting - as though the wagon belonged to the grim reaper himself!

The tones really enhance the distressed wood. The old fashioned coffin atop the wagon, the scythe hanging from the side. This is the Grim Reaper's place that you have opened the door to, Poe, and shed light on his tools of the trade. You have found the most amazing things, relics of the past and captured them so well.

I like the "old" colors you have implemented here.. great objects asswell. Adds some feeling of it being a photo taken 50 years ago!

Cheers
