Thanks Ken! I usually shoot at dawn or dusk when I am on location to really get rich colors, this image is more in my 'tourist-but-art' category, rather than fine art (I have never exhibited it, and probably never will).
however I disagree with the lanterns, i shot some with the roof and much prefer this composition (althought I forgot to crop the far right few pixels out in the rush to upload it..ooops)
Excellent Capture Sam :) i like the composition allot, the old building in the background and the Old light lamps in the front, very nice way to compose a picture. Do you know that those light lamps are called Fanoos, it is an ancient Egyptian styled lamp, they are using it from thousands of years to in their celebrations. Very well done, regards,
I've been to Fez, it's a fascinating place. Nice photo idea but I'd make a couple of suggestions. First, the lanterns don't relate to anything else in the photo, so maybe use a wider angle so we can see what they hang from (presumably some part of a building.) Second, take the shot near sunrise or sunset for richer color. But it works pretty well as is.
