thanks, Phil. Yah, i decided to title it that so people would look & discover him there! Not sure i know a trick but what i did have to do was brighten up the whole photo in PS a lot! & then play with the levels afterward to bring the contrast back in - i ended up darking the darks a lot, brightening up the midtones & not touching the highlights - they were pretty blown-out already. So, there was certainly some work involved although it only took a few minutes. Also, i noticed that the toning made it easier to view rather than when it was in staight b&w (i did that in PS as well). Maybe it was just beginners luck!! :O)

If you hadn't said anything I wouldn't have realised there was anyone in this shot.... well done on managing a god shot in woodland - I've never taken a photo in woods that I was happy with! What's the secret?! :)
