About
First of all, I'd like to embarassingly admit that I was in one of the most beautiful places in the world (Talkeetna Mnts. Alaska) and i chose not to bring a camera. My reason being? I noticed i had developed alterior motives for capturing nature's beauty, meaning, the path i was traveling on was eventually going to seduce me into using the last picture on a roll of film to take a picture of something that could sell, instead of using the last pic for something that was special to me and had no chance of selling. Hopefully that makes sense to some, becuase it made sense to me before my month long trip into the mountians, now it just sounds extrememly stupid. These two pictures are taken by my friend Ben Mayer, I'm included in both of them. I had also previously written a poem about our hiking group (I was with National Outdoor Leadership School)during a self-chose day of silence; it turned into an abstract self-discovery poem, and the second i was done writing it i knew i wanted to play around with photoshop to try and explain my thoughts through pictures. Hope you enjoy, and please, critiques and questions are wanted--about the poem or art.
Very deep. The image lends itself to your creative imagination with words. Hopefully you will grant us more of your soulful wisdom with others like this. Luck you to live in such a beautiful place. Just got back from a trip to the inside passage last month. You live in one of the most beautiful states in the US. Keep up the great work. Laurie
