About This will gonna be my last entry for the blurry image project - at least probably ;-)

Some of you might know this image... In fact, this is one of my first shots that I posted at Usefilm. Times Square revisited.

So why on earth did I repost it? Frankly speaking, I started to hate that picture after I uploaded it. To be precisely, I hated the rework. Way too much color, many details lost (especially in the lighter areas), geometrical distorsions etc. I was glad when the image went to the second page so nobody can see my first steps with Photoshop immediately. I THINK that I now have the skills to work on that picture with PS and to bring out the candids I wanted to. Like the blurry Taxi, the crispy right side, the steam, the detail in the back etc.

I hope you won't find it lame to make a repost... in order to get into the blurry project. But it's the only chance I can get my personal peace with this image. I thought long about it...

Puuh, enough said. Comments are appreciated a lot. =)

Hi Michael,

MfG
Michael

Hi Thilo,
Like the color one much better, it has a certain kind of "city hardness" definitely New York.
Good job.

Thilo,

I really like the colour version. I don't recall seeing the original one, so I can't compare. But it's good to move on, to improve, to feel more confident.

Regards,
Angelo.

Dear Erik,

thanks for your comments. I'm not sure about the alternative either, so you're probably right ;-)

Take care,

Thilo

Dear Hugo,

thanks for commenting the image a second time ;-)
I removed the image so that you don't see my bad PS skills.

As for the alternative: you're probably right about this. the idea for removing the color elements was to focus on the steam and the blurry taxi.

Thx again, Thilo

Hi Thilo, well i don't think its lame to post it again :) I'm sorry i missed the first one, and don't want to go back now and compare that wouldn't be fair to this one. To me it's one of those big poster pictures! there is so much happening that i can't take it all in at once, it need to be blown up to fit on a wall and then maybe i could seperate all the elements. Nice work - congrats
Gruss

I don't like the monocchrome alternative too much. It looks sort of purple on my screen. I would stick with your cool colors on this one.

Interesting processed version of Times Square. The steam and the blurred taxi go together nicely. The colors remind me of the 1970's for some reason. Cool shot!

Hi Thilo, I remember this one well, but can't quite remember what I wrote about it. A pitty you removed it.... I know I liked that shot, and I still like it. Especially the clashing tones, and the screamingly hard look about it. It's different than what you usual post, but I think its bloody excellent. I really do.

Looking at the alternative, it's much more your (current) style, but I find it much less appealing than the large (original) post.

CHeers,

hugo

Cheers,

Hugo

I made a different version of that picture.

Would like to know what you think of the alternative.
