Yes the front page exposure is great!
thank you for noticing this and informing me! your critiques are always appreciated and help me to explore beyond the crust of my "set ways". To qualify my methods though I take photos so that I can create paintings. these I sell for my living and so I have come upon photography as a means to the painting. I know you have checked out my web site and you know that is where I do my playing around. Also that is why I try to get maximum DOF as I need to know what is happening in all areas of the image. I then go freaky on canvas ...LOL. I try to direct your eye via simple tools such as composition, lighting,tone and complimentary coloring. I find that if you have these few tools in line and working for you then the image will be easyier for the prospective viewer to appreciate. This makes it easier to communicate your emotions about a subject. In short this is some of my theory derived from personal experience. I am not schooled in any way but have had lots of criticism to good affect for me. so please let me know how you feel at any time I will always take what you have to say to heart and consider it fully.

With warm regards Tim Schumm

Very beautiful Canadian Rockies landscape shot, Tim! Very nice composition, great lighting, and wonderful colors. My one trip to Maligne Lake was rather rushed and the sky was overcast. I look forward to visiting this beautiful place again one day.

excellent composition Tim; I like the way you captured the line of banks; the combination between the lake, reflections and the clearing is perfect; the mountains far in the background and the forest on the left complete the image;
considered composition and very good execution;

regards
Lukasz

More Moose amd Grizzly. another great shot. man I am envious of that wide end on the lens.
The spot that you are standing does not support vehicle traffic I would guess. that is why all these shots are so cool. nobody ever goes out to the vantage points to see the worls from off the road.

Wonderful framing that pulls the viewer's eye right through the image!

One of the consistent characteristics of your landscape photography is that images are sharp throughout the entire image. That has a lot of appeal, and in some aspects it makes these images perfect to the point of being almost surrealistic.

I think that is almost a necessity in the environment in which you work. There is so much beauty there, not one speck of it should be left out.

I wonder if you have ever played with minimal DOF just as an artistic exploration. I ask this question not as a criticism of your work, which I love. I just wondered because I struggle with DOF when working on some of my photos. I wonder what someone with your eye might convey with a shallower DOF.

BTW, did you notice that we are on the front page together? That is cool!
