Hi Uwe,

cubismus....in beeindruckender güte....
fast stören die lampen rechts ein wenig, aber letztlich sind sie ein letztes lebenszeichen in dieser lego-welt....

Dear Hugo,
as always, you have great skills in nailing the things down. the analysis is great, and you mentioned all the stuff that makes this image worthy for me to upload. you're right about the lights on the red - they suck ;-)
I made several shots at this place but with different focal distance. only this one came up with the effect that the viewer doesn't have any reference to the size. great that you observed that.
Take care, Thilo

Dear Angelo,
thanks a lot for your comments. You're totally right that the building on the right doesn't fit in well with the lego theme. Actually, I tried to crop it, but then I would give up the framing and the effect that Hugo mentioned: one can get a good feeling of the size, if the right building is missing. So I opt for the building.
As for canary wharf: I will come back to your offer. London is definitely on my list for short trips in the next time.
Take care, Thilo

Hi Thilo, Almost isometric, and a perfectly aligned perspective. Very well composed. The framing by the two buildings in front is a nice touch. The static, rather closed compsoition removes the reference to the size of the builings, and do carry a good resemblance to Lego.... The only thing I would consider is burning the TL lights in the window on the right, making them less obvious (in contrast to cloning them out; the lamps do create a tad of tension....) Well captured!
Cheers,
Hugo

Great work, Thilo. Well observed. If you come to London, don't forget to visit Canary Wharf, which is the real Lego Land as far as I'm concerned.
Give me a call and I'll show you 'round :)
I like the work on the sky. Bland skies are such a pain on a digicam.
The building to the right is slightly out of character. I guess you were trying for a more symmetric look. Did you try with just the buildings to the left?

Dear Gayle,
thanks for your constructive words. as for the sky: I actually thought about removing the noise that comes from doubling the layers, but I opt against. For me, the somehow artificial sky corresponds and contrasts perfect to the blocky lego buildings. For me, the noise is a mean to create a contrast here.
It's great to hear that the alternating colors tend to create an illusion for you. that were exactly my feelings when I stood in front of these buildings.
take care, Thilo

changing the color balance to blue-grey was a good choice..contrast is very good..you sure like your geometry images and this is a classic one..you may work on the grain in the sky ;> ..yes,has appearance of legos and whole image has a bold, graphic look as if completely done on a drafting table..if you look at the edge of the middle lighter bldg.against the darker bldg.'s edge an illusion appears as if the lighter bldg. is the side panel of the darker one!..so cool,Thilo!..regards,gayle
