Thanks, Ian. I wasn't sure what you meant by "these more recent shots" as this was taken two years ago... I don't like the higher saturations in colour photographs that started to become popular with digital cameras. It all looks very exaggerated and unreal to me. So I'll probably continue to get advice to increase the saturation!

Hugo raises a good point Roger, and I'm wondering if that is generally true of a lot of the more recent shots Roger. I was looking at some (the statues) and thought, oh well, it is a grey day, and you are respecting that by leaving things a bit flat. I admire the shadow detail here - really makes this very real for me. I don't know whether it is saturation or a tad more contrast my eyes want in these more recent shots. Still Japan on a summer day has way more brilliant light than I am used to. (Whatever it is) it's not something I've noticed before.

I have seen some amazing photos of Mt. Fuji and I include this among them. The only thing missing is the little tuft of snow at the summit. Excellent shot. David

I can see what Hugo says about the pathway to fuji, the eyeline falters a little at the woods. I don't think its a major problem though, the foreground is strong enough to carry that, with Fuji placed exactly on the golden 1/3 2/3 crossing.
Beautiful work, I much prefer this image to the ones posted earlier in the week.

Keith

Hi Roger, quite a cluttered image, but still composed to create a perceivable line of view towards Mt. Fuji. My eye tries to find a path along the stream up the hill, but I doubt if its there. I think it would've created an "easier" image to look at, but the absence thereof creates the appeal. Very good shot, although the tones could use a tad more intensity.
Cheers,
Hugo
