Wonderful tones and so good composition.
The exposure is perfect and the atmosphere so quite and relaxing, so nice work.

Great light and an interesting composition. It feels slightly awkward and I think its the relative positions of the main bale and the pylon.

to Sony Kusumo:
of course I tried cropping it so that it follows the rule of thirds, but it definitely looks better with the original composition.
Sometimes (but not always) breaking the rules can improve a photo :)
The camera has noise reduction, but it creates relatively noise free images up to 10 min exposure time so I didn't have to switch it on...

For Jim Goldstein: the noise reduction is called 'dark frame substraction', just try a search and you'll find plenty of information about it.
For this photo I didn't use noise reduction, the Canon EOS 1D MK2 does not produce much noise at this exposure times.
In fact that was one of the reasons to buy it :)

Hi Tom, nice shoot. Very nice long exposure shoot. Love the appearance of the HV poles on the right. Just a note, you didn't follow the "rule of thumb/rule of third" and still you've created a very nice composition. Great.... Btw, does the EOS 1D MkII has the noise reduction feature?

Very cool shot! Are you shooting your night shots with Noise Reduction on or off? I've been shooting with it on and noticing very long delays afterwards. Someone I mentioned this to thought this was the closed exposure for the noise reduction. CMOS sensors taking a closed exposure of the sensor for every shot and then removing any noise from the shot taken. This ringing a bell? In any case beautiful shot. The ambient light over the horizon really makes this shot. Nicely done.

You know Tom, sometimes framing takes a little bit away from an extra ordinary photo. this time I think the framing takes away from a very nice shot. Just a little. Nice job. T
