Interesting discussion. I've tried and tried to get used to a tripod, but concluded slightly unsharp images were an even trade for increased mobility and freedom. I agree with the others who thought this was just fine the way it is.

I also like it as is, except would have like to see the "coal holder" less blurry. Tripod is the way to go ... believe me :-) I know you are/were anti-tripod, and so was I ... now I can't image shooting without it.

Super photo Rawabi - nothing further to add other than has already been mentioned. Other than you having the camera settings spot-on. The lighting and detail are very accurate :-)

lol, Jeff, if you are referring to my anti-tripod attitude I'm happy to annouce that i'm semi cured.. lol I got a tripod..! FINALLY..! hated it at first but when i used it to take self portrait it started growing on me.. so who knows.. maybe one day i WILL enjoy using it... one day.....! ;-)

This is really cool the way it is Rawabi. The flying trails of sparks are magical. You also have a great wonderful red hot flame and softly burning embers. Totally neat in the darkened night. (and thanks for your comment on my son's pic, I will let him know ;-) )

I agree as well on the tripod thing, but I really like this photo, the flying embers are really cool. Good work!

Very nice photo! I agree that all it needed was a tripod.

Actually, Rawabi,
I like it the way it is,
maybe a tripod so the coals/food? are more in focus, but then again; that just adds to the 'artsy' feel!

That fire was really popping!

Nice work,
Lori ;)
