amna, that is terrible news. i have always enjoyed your work. hope you get it fixed soon. although not too soon ;^) i've been away for work for a while and have a lot of comments to catch up on.

Sorry to learn about your misfortune, Amna. That is my worst fear also, the old analog cameras could take a blow. The digital cameras are very fragile indeed. We will miss you. Best of hopes. Regards, Rob.

In my city (Hong Kong), I know Canon offer a two-year free maintenance of 300D, which includes accidental damage, is that in your country ?

Thanks Saeed. Inshallah I will take it to the dealer today after work, it will take them up to 10 days to fix it. No worries, I have my 4 mega pixel digital camera. I think it is better to slow down.

I did ask for the repairing ,but if it is in Warranty ,best is to take it to the dealer. As far as I know the problem is mechanical so only battery door latch broken, but worth checking it. In mean while keep clicking even with mobile phone build in camera, if I can help let me no, by the way nice image ,I think this bird "Al `7arab" man7oos,lol,Saeed

Oh how dreadful!! Here's hoping the repairs will be swift, efficient and not too expensive. A couple of months ago I tripped and fell down hard on concrete, while holding my camera in my hand. I hurt myself badly but luckily had the good sense to twist my wrist and thus saving the camera. I would feel terrible if anything had to happen to my digcam!
Appropriate sad image - I know you will feel lonely, but maybe now you could go through your older images and see what effects you could put to them?
