Last wednesday, the time trial race of a professional cycling tour was held in front of my house. I shot about 200 images and I will show you three of them :)
Hi Maarten, thanks for your comment. The reason for selecting this image ? In the first place, I wanted to give an impression of the race in 3 images. Therefore I chose one image of the preparation, one of the start and one of the race itself (of course, it was technically not possible to take the same cyclist for all images). What I particularly liked about this image is: 1) there are a lot of people, still the attention is drawn to the concentrated cyclist (contrary to some other images -that I did not select- which were much busier, e.g. with people from the audience standing in the way). 2) everybody is looking in different directions, but nobody is looking at the cyclist... which I found quite peculiar.
All the people in this picture are looking for something, including the cyclist. I'm looking too and wondering why you're showing us this pic. From your series, I liked the cyclist in motion the best.
