A big smile from Sweden here, after Elisa advertised your photo and said I just have to take a look at your "Who is Swedish" photo! :-))

Well, I'm glad she did, this is so delicate and beautiful! I think your choice of DOF is super, and the flowers are so lovely! Very beautiful and professionally taken flower photo!

This is a winner Christian, so delicate and well composed. Love the soft blues. Wonderful selective focusing. Don.

Hi Christian, Although I'm not much of a floral lover, as there are 13 in a dozen of them, I think this one easily makes the cut in being original and refreshing. The repetitive "blobs of colour" in each of the four quadrants of the composition and the four flowers (almost) in focus add quite an original touch. Maybe the DOF is a tad too shallow. A bit more recognisability in the background as well as the flowers in the foreground fully in-focus might've created the finishing touch.

Cheers,

Hugo

Yes, I found that DOF is more difficult to control with a digital camera. Nevertheless quite a good try.

I agree. I spent a few hours with the 60mm on the D70, just to master the DOF. This macro lens is now behaving like a 90 mm and can make very close shots, but with a critical DOF. Very hard to preview at f16 or f22 for example, as it gets very dark in the viewfinder. I have to tame that macro lens still.

Oh ... thank you Christian! You seldom see Swedish (flag) colours composed/presented as beautifully as here. Hope Kristina finds this one! ;-)

Very nice.. I think I would prefer a bit more DOF though.. To have the flowers sharp while the background stays as it is.
