This is a very inspiring photo. You are right, all the elements in this photo are necessary. I also do not like to doctor up my photos. My photos speak to me and I want them to speak to all that view them....................Opal

Thank you for your nice comment about my photo

By now that we have already me, I think that we can switch to first names.
That's another great shot, Paul.
Thank you for you comment on my "Raindrops on my window 2"
In order to get the cathedral into focus too, as you suggested, Paul, I would have to close the aperture more, but I wanted the cathedral to be out of focus and concetrate on the raindrops.
Regards,
Rafi

What a fantastic light you captured! I love the light on the tall thin candles, and the high and depth of photo is excellent too! Really 3D feeling!

Just magic.....fills me up with joy...and since I'm a night photography freak....you also gave me an idea. With my VR lens I might catch this beautiful light of the candles or at least I will give it a try.
Fantastic framing,hat off!!! Antonella 7

Actually I did have the windows cropped at first..and also the bottom, which was ok but they became just some candles..I like how the candles become part of the larger scene with the church windows included.. yet they remain the subject of the image due to the darkness. Hence the title, Hope, for all those who light the candles.. hoping and praying...

Thilo, thanks for your comments...this was handheld so I could not use a long shutter but I like that the background is not obvious, it sets the mood of the image better.

very moody composing, paul. I like the central placement of the candlestick and the surrounding windows above. not sure what would happen with a longer shutter. perhaps you may tweak out some more detail. strong one, anyway. cheers, thilo

Excellent capture, It is glowing in the middle of the darkness, the candles are almost golden. Sharpness is also great.

P.S thanks for the advice about the lens, I got the sigma 105 for this stage it is cool lens ;-)
