You've abstracted this scene with interesting textures and colors and, also, a strong diagonal at the pier/water interface.

Hello Stefan - such fantastic colours. Everything focussed perfectly (difficult in these situations, I know). Nicely seen. congrats. JMcC.

Well seen stefan-a beautiful image. If possible maybe you should darken the lighter yellow pos in the top right hand corner. I is taking my eye out of the picture. The colours are superb.

stefan, very cool abstract! i love the colors and how they "step" on each other up the pillars. the rust gradually changes colors and texture as it mixes with shadows on the top and "blands" into the ripples at the bottom. very well seen and captured! you don't ask for a rating but you get a 7 from me.

take care,
tom

I agree this photo is well spotted - it's amazing how something that happens purely by chance could have such a beautiful, yet measured effect. Like your cork oak photo, I wonder if a crop would make this a bit more dynamic - perhaps a little less water on the bottom? I also wonder what the photo would look like without the white glare on the water on the left side. I feel it interrupts the pattern in the reflection and the overall vertical lines in the scene. Still, I think it's a very intriguing capture!

Thank you Hugo - I agree with you - this needs a little something to hold ones interest...

Love the mix of colours throughout this... from the brushed bronzes to the metallic blues... they really capture my attention and lead me through the shot.
One thing that keeps catching my eye, though, is in between the two posts on the right side of frame... up at the top there is one edge of a posot that is square and yellow... it seems awkward there. It's such a different shape from all the other lines and the way the light hits it it's almost the brightest thing in the image. Perhaps a little trip to PS to burn the colour and make it not so noticeable? Could be just me noticing this, but I really do think it would be more powerful shot with that square toned down.
Again, great use of colour, lines and reflection to make this come together beautifully. Well seen!

Hi Stefan, Very intriguing shot. The colours of the corroded metal and algae is amaising, and I like the soft reflection in the water. Also, the diagonal composition is well chosen. The simplicity of the scene makes it a very strong photo, but I think a tad more tension would keep the attention longer. Very good capture...

Cheers,

Hugo
