About 'Some reach higher than others'

This photo is in a way like the one I posted yesterday, but better. That's at least my personal opinion.

Here, the white tulip almost floats among the red ones.
It was shot at a tulip field in an area that's famous for it's flowers, here in the Netherlands.

I will post more of this shooting, slowly moving around the field; next one will be a couple of meters more to the left actually.

Except for the Fuji Velvia film that I took with me, I didn't come prepared this day. Have to improve on that next year!

Have fun,
Jeroen

Oh, I finally became a Donor today. Had to do it...

Bob,

must have seen this one on another excellent photography site I guess...

Seen any other Nikonians around here? I've seen LucVN, but I didn't know you are present here as well!

So Jeroen, where did you get the idea to place the white tulip like this? ;-)

The white flower looks even bolder in this image than the previous one. Congrats on becoming a donor. I hope you didn't pick this flower ;-) Rob

Hi Jeroen, I think this one is less strong as the previous one. The DOF is IMO, a tad too shallow.

Very interesting what a different placement does to an image. I think the placement of the white tulip in the lower part of the image creates more tension than in this shot, as it reduces the effect of the primary subject, equalising the difference in attention between the red tulips and the white one compared to the previous shot.

Cheers,

Hugo

Congratulations fellow Donor! :-)

Jeroen - I am undecided whether the foreground should be cropped or not. I have been moving the image up and down (and getting dizzy in the process ). Either way "works" for me. I don't agree with cloning out the green though.

Can't wait for the next in your series :-)

Teunis, Rene,

You both would like to have the front part removed. Interesting that two comments say so.
But I am very convinced I like it like this.

I love the way the Depth of Field acts in this image and created it on purpose.

Of course I do accept other people's ideas and I find them interesting.

Jeroen dit is goed gedaan maar ik zou toch het voorste gedeelte geknipt hebben. maakt het minder interresant.

Great selective focus here ... maybe clone out the green area.. not sure if it adds or subtracts from the effect?.. what do you think ?
