Rich the detail is excellent....however despite what you think "handheld" refers to the camera.....good thing you werent shooting a Ford Explorer..... P.S. a little Noxema or Vaseline Intensive Care will soften up those hands a lot.....

Gary ...
I'm getting confussed ... if this is not a "hand held" shot, what is???
BTW ... just because the tripod was used ... I still had a nightmare with this shot. I was focusing and changing camera setting and positoning on the tripod with the other hand. The moth was kind of asleep. Finally I was ready to shoot ... the first few shots were blurry. I drank a lot of coke and could not keep my hand from shaking. Notice the shutter ( 3 seconds ). Thankfully I had the remote shutter release already hooked up. So, I took the other hand and mashed all my weight onto the photographed hand WHILE tripping the shutter with the remote chord simetaneously. Boy, the trouble us macro photographers go thru. Ha Ha Ha ... it was probably a really funny site to watch

I think this moth is worth two or three of the spiders, so, no deal. Now if you have a green praying mantis ...

This is a moth????? Maybe a bird, a small airplane, an alien perhaps. I wouldn't let this guy near any woolens! Creepy, fantastic, amazing perspective. EEEEEK, will think about this all day.
