About I took this photo toward the end of last year in Saguaro National Park, near Tuscon, Arizona. I was playing with the perspective and depth of the scene, placing the cacti in different positions.

Thanks Hugo for your constructive criticism. The actual picture is not as red. My scanner tends to create the reddish tint to some of the photos. I am learning photoshop slowly but surely, As far as the tops of the cacti go, yes it is a little distracting. I do have some other photos taken from farther back with all of the cati intact.

I tried to edit this a little to take out the red

Hi Jason, I like the compsoition and the idea behind it to use the cacti to emphasise the perspective. I think that works very well here. There are two things that I find slightly distracting, though. One is the tonal range and colour saturation, which seems as if there's a slight red film over the photo (easily corrected in Photoshop) and the second one is that I think the cut off tops of the cactus in front is somewhat unbalancing the composition.

Cheers,

Hugo
