Robin McAulay suggested that I mount these as transparencies using backlighting. Not a bad idea.

*L* I thought I was going crazy. On my screen, the hue isn't terribly yellow, but I needed to differentiate and thought it would be more clear than using "red object".
Coincidentally, I was looking at this photo on a different computer this morning and it looks completely different on an LCD screen. It appears very 3 dimensional and . . . it glows!

Never, Becky - you always have constructive comments, the main reason for my posting here in the first place. BTW... on the yellow center - on the two TFT monitors (with factory color profiles) I usually edit on there is a vague hint of yellow in the center, but on my Linux box with a monitor that usually looks much more saturated there is a clear yellow hue in the center.

I'm glad you're not too irritated by my comments, Stefan. Sometimes the observation isn't that skillful, but I just write what I think and feel. To quote Monty Python, "I don't know much about art, but I know what I like." Of course, they were eating paintings at the time, so take that with a grain of salt. ;)

Becky - not a lot of wrestling was necessary, the variety of these dyes threw themselves at me and I'm just a happy bystander. I see your point about the bright area (but yellow???) and understand in the sense of conventional wisdom for how our eyes approach images, but I disagree with the conclusion that it overpowers the darker details that are operating in the periphery. You point is well taken however, and I really appreciate your thoughtful comments here (and all over usefilm for that matter).

I really admire how you're able to wrestle so many different images from the same singular process. I like how this one is a combination of the "floating" dye photos, the "synaptic" dye photo and something completely different! I particularly like how the three are folding together on the left in what almost appears to be a transdimensional warp between three photos. Tres cool!
That said, I feel the yellow glowing shape, while intriguing on its own, overpowers the photo a little. I like the subtleties here, like the aforementioned warp effect, and I think the eye is drawn away from the interesting swirling lines by something which is big and bright, but not as interesting as what's around it.

Hi stephan, I really find this very intriguing.... Can't get the multiple exposure thought out of my head, but this one is already very dynamic. Superbly creative.
Cheers,
Hugo
