Thanks for taking the time to search this out Ina. It is one of my personal favorites. This is called staghorn sumac because of the red berry spikes on the bush. If you take those berry clumps and boil then you will get a refreshing lemonaide tasting tea that is also high in vitamin C.

I love to see your treatment of the sumac Bill! Great moody shot in the wind and rain. Before I posted mine, I had no idea what it was, found from Gary Dick it was called "sumac." I just liked it! It has so many possibilities. It's nice to see what your interpretation of sumac is. In this one, the thumbnail also looks like salmon! Great job! Ina

A nice shot Bill, and of one of my favorite fall color subjects! The layering effect of sumac is so graphic. I also like your use of movement, resulting in a nice alternative to the more usual, static autumn leaf pix. Regards. Tim
