Hi Pat, I scanned the print. I have an older Acer scanner that does have the neg scanner. He was pretty close, sitting on a old rusty pole on the dock. This was an area that the fishing boats bring in fresh fish and clean them on the dock. The pelicans wait to eat the scraps.

I think it is great! You must have been very close. He must have been somwhat tame. Did you scan the neg or a print?

Great capture, hard to keep the whites from being too hot. I heard there are some White Pelicans down around the Cape Canaveral area. That would make a worthwhile trip.

Good shot! I like your angle and the details are nice and clear. He's quite different from the pelicans here in Australia that I've been photographing. Lorinda

This guy looks a little frazzled. But I can tell this becuase of the excellent sharpness of the photo and the low grain of the film used. The exposure is quite good also. You can definately tell the where the white on the pelican stops and the background picks up. I noticed that you used Portra nc. I might have used the vc instead to up the saturation. I have a few of these in my portfolio. Feel free to check them out. Cheers!
