this could work very well if some of the distractions were not there.....clearly your idea has potential...the bird walking and a well defined shadow of him would work really well especially with the strong diagionals of the planking......the shadow to camera right pulls the eye and the shadow above the bird also distracts......the birds shadow should be clearly visable or full....very good concept but needs total attention to anything that distracts from the original intent...its easy to get wrpaaed up in an image, got to keep your mind clearly focused on what you are really seeing and what you want to see and how to get on film what you want to see.....time and experimenting will get you over the hump....keep going...
