Taken during our 30th Independence Anniversary celebrations. Typically fireworks are photographed with long exposure and a tripod - something I found out AFTER taking my pictures - this one was taken hand-held, spot-metered on the rising plume. I like how the exploding fireworks resemble a bouquet of flowers. BTW - it was full-moon that night. However the moon was in another location in the sky - nothing that couldn't be fixed afterwards via Corel PhotoPaint :-).
very nice catch and a very hot banquet ;).. the moon truly gives it a better look. i tried to picture fireworks once and they turned out as u said.. blury crappy lines, i'm amazed this was hand-held
