Dear Andrej, thank you so much for your most helpful comments, I appreciate them very much. Your picture of the Dolomite Mountains is awesome, very well done. It shows a great deal of talent and interest. Now, there is a difference between my photography technique and yours, simply because you use film and I use a digital camera. I have to use PS, because otherwise the pictures are too weak, there is noise, artifacts, etc. Sometimes I go too far. Like on the first New Orchid Macro, I feathered the edges of the flower. I did not blur it. On the New Orchid Macro II, I did not feather it, so it came out sharp. The macro photographs bear no relationship with the other (multiple blossom) picture. These are different blossoms and different pictures. Just wanted to clarify what I have done. And again, I thank you very much for your comments, you are a great and very experienced photographer and you are giving me very valuable information. Please continue to give me your comments, strict and critical comments are appreciated too. Best regards from your Northern California friend, Alex

Hello Andrej, I like this picture just as it is. I don't know if more red tones would improve it. The composition is beautiful and so are the colours! Regards, Diana.

Excellent composition with superb lighting and lovely natural colors. You may enrich the reds by acting on the saturation command and working just on the reds (Dropdown list) but I think that you may loose some naturality in this great shot. I would leave it as it is.
About your question (http://www.usefilm.com/image/291970.html), yes, it was intentional; just to gine the sense of proportions and to add some vitality.
Best regards and my congrats for this beautiful shot! Paolo

Andrej, for me this works perfectly without more powerful colours, I mean the whole scene with the light is so powerful itself! Our fantastic nature, and beautiful photo of it!
You don't seem to like photoshop very much, but if you give it a chanse you will see that it's really helpful and good many times! You don't have to use it for manipulations, cloning, replacements etc... only adjustments, to make it look like the real photo.

Yeah i am Tim Bronkhorst his little brother (2 years jonger). Thanx for the positive comment. About this picture: i like it a lot, i like landscapes. The dark and light constrasts are very nice, the light between all the dark. There is only one thing i don't understand, above the left mountains in the clouds is a litthe white spot. Planned or an airplane or just a piece of dust on the scanner ?? Greets Lex

Hi Andrej here you have the diagonal taking the eye to the peak on the right but the peak on the left grabs attention as well. If you wanted to focus on the right peak there is an alternative crop. This is just to make my previous point no criticism meant. I like this shot a lot with diagonals of light and shade with the peaks in the sun and the great sky. The colours are very soft and natural with the good light. If you want to enhance the red colour take your shots when you can early morning or late in the day. I know this is difficult with mountains.PS is an obvious solution for a digital image and you can control where you have the effect. Regards, Graham.

Very nice scene. I think you have recieved most of the helpful comments. I do feel that the bright mountians are overexposed. Maybe try spot metering when you expose your pictures. Don.

Well your going to have to use ps to bring out the contrast. Might even have to go in the channels and correct them because that usually happens with a scanner unless you have a good one, scan at the highest resoulation you can so you'll have more of an image to work with. Looks good the mountains are a little bright and the shadows are dark just need to equal those out just a little bit.

Absolutely stunning! In terms of contrast, I don't think you should do anything to change it (at least from the computer screen); and the reds are strong enough. I like the change of hues and light on each of the surfaces. The most distant peaks are almost white hot, but add a nice high-key accent to the range.

I think that it is an amazing landscape shot with beautiful lighting. I don't think that you need any more contrast to it but it would look better with a slower speed film so that the colors were more saturated, I think that is what you are going for. Try an iso 50 or even 25 and the greens will come out a lot better...

It's just incredible how much this one improved by scanning it well, it looks like a diffrent picture. Well, the light stripes on the threes and mountains look excellent, they give the picture a special mood. How to work add this one I don't know, but I do know that it already looks good. I'am waiting for more :) Greets Tim.

Great composition, Andrej! I think you could have a bit more color saturation ( not contrast ) and a little less overall image contrast ( levels adjustment- decrease highlights and enhance details in dark areas ). Photoshop or similar software can help you with that. Regards! ..... Lucas
PS: I took the liberty, since you asked, to copy your image and adjusted levels (histogram), increased color saturation and balance ( more blue and red on midtones )and added a bit more contrast to the sky. All in Photoshop. I hope you like it!

Great photo from your travel colection again....fantastic view, beautiful image. And about changing colors, you just have to try some Photoshop program effect...result can be fantastic! Enjoy!
Best regards, Orchid
