About Ascending Red Slate Mountain, tough sledding. But as always, the effort reaps the reward. I'd love some comments/recommendations.

This image is a bit on the dark side. One other aspect to this type of photo that doesn't relay as much to others as it does to the photographer is the sense of scale. The foreground rocks although creating interesting lines don't help in providing scale to the background. I've found on the trails it's tough to find reasonable areas to get the perfect shot. You don't want to fall off the trail. Time of day and altitude play a big role in how well a shot comes out. Early morning and late afternoon lighting are quite important. Use of a circularized polarizer if used too much can ruin an otherwise shootable scene. The sky always seems a little darker at altitude. In this case that seems to be the case. I'm not sure if a polarizer was used or not here. Hope that helps and wasn't stating too much of the obvious.

Wow, looks like picture sent back from Mars. Nice crop to cause picture tot seem to be in motion. Sky looks strange, did you enhance color of paler looking sky? Sometimes better to just leave it alone. Very interesting photo........Randy
