About Captured this on film instead of digital or direct-to-paper and managed to get the exposure right this time. Got the lower contrast I was after, but now I think I like the more higher contrast versions I get with by going directly onto panalure paper.

Very cool Stephan. These light trick photos are fantastic. A really great idea and nicely enacted.!

Becky - I scanned the negative and everything after that is digital editing. Thanks for the suggestions, a little depth would not hurt here :-)

With such intriguing abstract images, I can see the desire to experiment with them would be quite overwhelming. I like the idea you have here (and I think I appreciate it more knowing the process you go through to create such images - the inverted squares show a step in that process, which I think is rather cool). Being unfamiliar with processing, I'm not really sure how you achieved this image. Did you physically cut up the original image and place it over the inverted one? Or did you put it together in PS? If it's the latter, I think I'd like to see further experimentation with this idea, for example, softer edges on the uninverted overlays, or perhaps a slight shadow on the squares to create some depth.

i'd like to see more of the negative images - they take what you're doing to a different dimension - fantastic and original work..
