About A very early photograph, taken my first summer in Japan. Shortly afterwards, Mt. Asama erupted, and I'm not sure whether you can climb it even now. The Southern Alps, 50 miles away, can just be made out.

This is beautiful - I like the tonal range you achieved here - the gradations of grey on the foothills is beautiful and the silver trail leading down is a good eye director.
