The story telling both by you and your image is simply wonderful! A blue sky as a contrast to all the vivid colors used as Jim suggested would be a bonus!
By the way, is reply to Jim what you meant for me to read or is it an article? I am still lost! :)

Great. I like the white sky, blue might make it look alittle snap-shotish. I never would have guessed that you did any PS work, but I just love that you did. I really makes a comment on the role of woman i.e. the sex symbol vs. the mother worker. The circles also add to the female symbolism.
I kinda want to see the green trees gone, but also understand that the growth in the back add to the concept. Or atleast what concept I'm reading into this image.
Heather
Thanks for all your thought on my work, you do have a refreshing way with words.

For viewers curiosity...

Look to Crete... where there are endless days of blue skies of the sort that Mr. J M looks for! Should you go suggest there are two choices for your and your friend...

Spilli which is in the center of the island somewhat up in the hills, where you stay in someones house... wake up early with rooster... walk to one of the 3 cafaneios... sit and have your 'makes you stand-up' coffee (no Yankee brown water only delicious Greek Mud!) with Goat Yogurt+honey+nuts... and watch the donkey walk by in the middle of the street overladen with firewood... his master still wearing traditional garb as a protection from possible Turkish invaders... eventually follows some 15+ minutes... as he talks to each person along the road... One day when I get back there I may opt to follow the donkey to see where he is going... as there must be a wonderful old house on the hill... that would be a capture for film...

The other choice is www.bluepalace.gr

Offbeat and totally fascinating. The ruins/reconstruction with the inverted, painted columns are unlike anything in my experience and my curiousity as to where and what is immediately aroused. Your inserts, nicely done, only add to the intrigue. A blue sky to contrast with the rust-colored columns might be worth a try. --jim
