Hi Leslie I must say that orange is a colour I'd never choose for a background, especially not for a tiny and delicate flower like this one, but.... that's just personal. I quite like the composition of this image. I do not agree with Katherine Hagen on this. One should display flowers the way one likes. If everyone would always follow the usual protocol, photography would become pretty boring. I love this shot. It's simply fantastic.

Beautiful macro, Leslie. I would like to suggest that you try it with a different color in the background as the orange is not flattering to the flower. Too dissonant. Also, I think the "usual" protocol with flowers is to display them as they grow...up or even side-ways. You could flip this photo so that the stem comes from the frame at the bottom left. Just a suggestion.
