First,you were able to slip up on the heron... Second, you made it the ENTIRE focus of your photo.... Third, the trees really ARE Cypress..... Fourth, you have distance represented by fading reflections on the water.... Fifth, there is a tonality which is more than pleasing as well as unusual, the green tones.... Sixth, the fog adds a mystery that would otherwise detract from the heron... O coulod go on, but to suffice it to say I think this is marvelous. Being from south Arkansas... I definately recognize the habitat, but unfortunately for me... have never been able to capture it so effectively.

Beautiful image Ron. I think the vertical comp works great here, and I like the drab mirkiness of the swamp in contrast to the egret.
