About With the deregulation of elctricity sales in Ontario, the day is coming when I will be able to select how my electricity is produced. I caught a glimpse of that future, driving home from work, when I saw the sun seemingly hanging from one of the big towers that carry nuclear generated electricity from the Pickering Nuclear Power Plant east of Toronto. Perhaps one day, market forces will make Solar Power a more viable option than they are today.

Thanks Karen, Sue, Vince. If you are interested in the contrast between these high tech superstructures and the natural world, you might also be interested in a film I saw recently called AMONG GIANTS. Its a 1999 British flick starring Rachel Griffiths (Brenda from Six Feet Under) and Pete Postlewaite and six miles of these big guys. In the meantime here is my version of Among Giants taken at the same time as the above photo.

I like your style John. Unusual to be sure, but also quite original. This is a great shot here. Color, clarity and placement are all excellent. Though I doubt I would want this on my wall. Nice job.

Ha, Karen! You crack me up!

I like this picture a lot, John. You lined up the convergence perfectly.

On a recent roadtrip, I wanted to stop to take a picture of these type of high tension towers because they looked like giant aliens marching across the peaceful Illinois farmlands. I was going to call it Space Invaders because they looked like conquering soldiers in aggressive ranks, rather than subservient helpers to mankind (person-kind?). However, when you're on motorcycles, you have to be more picky about where you pull off the road.

I think you should clone out the power lines. Just kidding. I like this shot because it shows the natural with the unnatural.
