Hi Peta again. This is really beautiful photoart. I can't use photoshop or other programmes like this, i wish i could! I just know how to make resize a pic and I can adjust levels, that's almost all :-).

But again about Oly. In Little woman I used my Oly on ISO 400 because of lowlight. I'm too lazy to use a tripod.. Usually I try to work on 64 or 100 if the lighting conditions allow that.

Wow, Peta!! This is terrific. I can see how the EBB's poetry has inspired you! This would look great printed on a textile.

The evolution and skill continue...

It somewhat reminds me of a bronze sculpture that sits against a brick wall, in a small private park in Geneva CH, where actually the vines quite often grow to cover some of her features... till the gardener comes to cut it back...

There is a style here... that takes obvious learning and experimentation... well done.

Wow Peta! You sure are progressing. Great job here. I'm still reading my books!! maybe I should just jump in and give it a try (layering). lol
I'm having a proglem getting the degree of transparance, contrast & everything else that should all match. Well done my friend!

Elizabeth

Hi Peta! She is indeed a lady of the woods, so proud, regal...the texture is lovely, and her expression so fitting..this is the product of undoubtedly a lot of effort, getting this just right. It's a great work...thank YOU :)

Peta; this is really nice although I do think I prefer the previous version. In this one I'd just like to see a little more light around her eyes-- or as someone else suggested a little more darkness in the face. But on balance that's just nit picking as this is a very good work.

You're really plumbing the depths of the soul with these. Determined to conquer the Romanticists' notion that photography cannot be art? I love the Browing with this. [I stick with H.D. on "She Walks...", which is a completely different picture]

Brilliant.

The Lady Geraldine...

This is the same image reworked that I had submitted previously as,
'She Walks in Beauty'

I have created an illustration of the Elizabeth Barrett Browning's
"Lady Geraldine's Courtship :
A Romance of the Age"

It can be found in it's entirety here:
http://www.photoaspects.com/lilip/poets/browning3.html

'Oh, the blessed woods of Sussex, I can hear them still around me,
With their leafy tide of greenery still rippling up the wind!
Oh the cursed woods of Sussex! where the hunter's arrow found me,
When a fair face and a tender voice had made me mad and blind!'

..............

"Said he -- `Vision of a lady! stand there silent, stand there steady!
Now I see it plainly, plainly now I cannot hope or doubt --
There, the brows of mild repression -- there, the lips of silent passion,
Curvèd like an archer's bow to send the bitter arrows out.' "

I want to thank Darren H for his advice on this image.
Very invaluable and so greatly appreciated! Thanks Darren! :)

once upon a time
I met her in her garden
in early autumn
