Hey Kev. The butterfly was alive and well when I took this photo yesterday morning. Had the door of my garden shed open and it took shelter there during a thunderstorm. The rain stopped and I wandered out to the shed. You can see a few raindrops on the outside of the old multipaned window. I've added the tech information above but the main thing here was using the 995's built-in flash, something I rarely do. In this case the bright light of the flash helped to pick up the strong foreground colours. I underexposed by -1/3 EV to saturate the colours. The grass outside needed no extra illumination. I just framed it as I saw it. The Swallowtail is very common in Ontario and about the same size as a Monarch. Glad you liked the photo.

Wow, dude, you're just goin' nuts on us here. Quality shot after quality shot of bright, colourful, digital photography. Have you switched what beverages you drink in the morning the past month or something?

Man on a mission...

Anyhoo, this is pretty insane. The primary colour mix seems almost too intentional for the shot to seem real, it has a certain painting-like quality. It's also somewhat ambiguous - I can't tell if this is a real butterfly in just the perfect spot shot macro or if it's a huge butterfly or if it's alive or dead or standing or moving... I think it's on a shelf next to a window but I'm not sure and less sure why it wiuld matter anyway.

Did you leave no info on this shot on purpose?
