About I saw this pond near Stockbridge, Mass. shrouded in fog yesterday morning and knew exactly what I had to do and how I had to do it. My apologies to all the bull frogs that took cover when I started throwing the rocks in the name of photoart. There's a personal mythology evolving around this bird (species: Ansel Crested Puffer) that would do a medieval monk proud, but I'll spare you the details and say only that comments are welcome and deeply appreciated. P.S.: Thanks to Patricia Eifel for the title.

A perfectly marvelous creation Jim. The foggy pond alone is a wonderful shot, and the addition ... just too funny! :)

I can't take much more of this... too much fun... not good for you... my catholic upbringing told me so...moderation is the key... shudder to think what you'll come up with next... get some sleep.... eat your peas... this could be the cover of a pink floyd album....

Todd Broadbent   {K:2204} 8/19/2003
Wildly imaginative. On the critical side, the reflection doesn't match the wave rings, but that's just stupid technical stuff. I love it because it's crazy art where stupid technical stuff doesn't really count for anything. Thanks for sharing your skills both behind the camera and the keyboard. Definitely an inspiration to those of us who can criticize better than perform (me). Best regards --Todd

I like this a lot - you really have something going with this bird - as I considered where you would go next I had a thought that perhaps a some shots from the bird's perspective would be neat...

BTW very glad you saw the fog - the scene is wonderful - I am glad you kept the background real - it contrasts well with the surreal creature and I think it is useful in this series to include an occasional dose of reality...

Patricia Eifel   {K:5097} 8/19/2003
This is very well executed; the reflection is perfect--very believable---and the integration of elements is wonderful. I really like where this is going, Jim. I think it would be satisfying to have some hint of a target for this shutterbird---perhaps one of those bull frogs--or a misty vision from the deeps?
Are the camera and bird both from stock photos?--they fit in the surroundings well (particularly if one attempts to adopt your mindset).
Nothing scientific about Watson...though he is sometimes a mystery ...but definitely not inspired by golf--my mother's first thought on hearing his name...

Simply brilliant, Jim!
I'd love to see inside your head sometime, it must be crammed full of ideas.
Kind regards, Chris.
P.S. Perhaps we should redefine Hemera photo-objects as 'stork photography'!!

I loved your photo, but I prefer original things: birds in one side, machine in the other.
But, in the photoart style it`s very good.
