About Reduced to B&W in PS. Does the out of focus head on the right add to the story or should it be cropped out ?

Christian, if you allow ... this is what I was after. Of course, cropping is really a matter of taste and I myself prefer a tight one :)

Well, thanks for your generous comments and point of view. The reason why I did post the image with the blurred head on the right was because the baby is actually looking at her. I have this other version w/o her here. I wish I could work something better on the left, but that's it ! When you're working candid amidst a crowd, you can't always control your framing that much.

Hi Christian,
Don't crop the photo, I like it this way. It adds a good perspective to the scene... makes it even more intimate this way! I like the expression on the womans face her... look how proud she is, with eyes full of love looking at this little one. Great composition and lightning. Regards,
Diana.

There seems to be a second person on the left? If there were more of that person, and less of the person on the right, you'd have the woman with the baby wonderfully framed by the two out-of-focus figures. I'm mentioning this just in case you already cropped some off the left, or had a similar opportunity again in the future.

As it is here, I would vote for cropping off the right; the head just prolongs the image without adding any content. I would NOT crop off the top, as suggested by Elisa - IMO the room above their heads is fine as it is.

I musn't forget to mention that you have done a great job capturing those expressions. Also, B&W is perfectly suited for this photo.

A lovely shot ... without the head on the right and the dark area on the left ... and after a tiny cropping at the top :)

yup crop it... and maybe crop down to just the heads of the subjets... that would get rid of the dark spot on the right

This is adorable. Great tones in the black and white. Yes I think you need to crop this from the right. Just my idea. Great work. Don.
