About Big Wave Bay, Sai Kung Country Park, HK. I realise there's no waves here, but after hiking 2 hours in 30 degree sunshine up & down huge hills to get here I wasnt too upset. Mmm was lovely jumping in that sea!

I think I need some holidays.

A long at this picture gives me a feeling or silence and calmness.

Well done!

Don't worry about waves, it's a nice shot as well, the landscape is fantastic, I like the frame and the good colors. Bye Max

Hey Heather... looks like you and Vince will have to compare beautiful beach scenes!!! The gorgeous colour of the sea makes up for the lack of waves... I just wish that the sky had a deep rich colour to match the rest of the shot. I like the inclusion of the green at the bottom... makes me feel like I'm standing on the mountain, looking down.

heather,
good blue on blue on blue...almost has an old poster feel.

regarding my "trawler" shot, the colors, although relative in tone and intensity, are modified by photoshop. the original was in intense tones of red and orange. i shall upload and would appreciate your review.

Thanks for the comments!

Alvin, we walked from Pak Tam Au - I think its part of Maclehose stage 2. Starts with a gentle slope down to Chek Keng, then up a big hill & down the other side to the beach. The water was really green - dunno why!

However, Matej, you caught me on the sky - it was SO washed out - I really must get a polarizer. Oh, and I didnt really jump so much as crawl into the sea!

I agree with leaving the people in the pic, the sense of scale effect is an important one IMO. Compositionally, I think a bit less of the sky and a bit more of the greenery in the foreground would be better. The sky seems a bit too cyan - was it really like that, or did you adjust the colour balance?

Nice place... I wouldn't jump in, but I'd walk in gladly :-)

Heather, I like the colours, nice, cool and blue. Also the composition is good with the green in the lower foreground, showing good DOF and a nice addition of a harmonious colour to the pic. I don't mind the people included in the photo since they add a sort of scale to the vast ocean and landscape. Actually I didn't notice them at first, only after I looked for about a minute. Well done.

Hello Heather. Nice green and blue water. I have been to the bay a few times tho I don't remember the water being that green. Which route did you hike to get there? Please write me at float@netvigator.com

This is a beautiful scene and worth the hike! The colors are wonderful. As a possible option, you might consider cloning out what I think are people on the beach. It is a bit difficult to initially tell what they are. Just an idea though as it is lovely as it is. Love the use of the leaves as a frame on the bottom.
